One or two depressions likely in the Bay in May

One or two depressions are likely to occur over the Bay of Bengal in May, of which one may turn into a storm with the possibility of normal showers across the country, reports UNB.
The South Western Monsoon on the other hand might visit Bangladesh in the first week of June, while 1-2 Monsoon depressions are likely to be created in the Bay of Bengal during June and July with normal showers, according to the Meteorological Office's quarterly climate outlook.
The Met Office forecast was published Wednesday, where it was mentioned that during the month of May, the country may experience 2-3 middle/extreme nor'westers/storms with thundershowers in the north and central regions, while 4-5 light/middle nor'westers/storms with thundershowers may be experienced in other parts of the country.
The outlook also says there might be 1-2 extreme heat waves (with temperatures reaching more than 40 degrees Celsius) in the country's north and central parts, while some 2-3 mild heat waves (36-38 degrees Celsius)or medium heat waves (38-40 degrees Celsius) may also occur.
About the condition of rivers, the outlook mentioned that naval condition during May in particular, would remain normal with possibilities of flash floods in the country's northern regions.
