One-point passport service launched in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, Sept 26: In order to alleviate the sufferings of passport seekers, One Point Passport Service launched its journey at the General Post Office, Bandar, Chandgaon, Agrabad and Chawkbazar post offices in Chittagong on Monday.
Post Master General (PMG) Eastern Region ABM Humayun inaugurated the newly devised system of procuring the passports at the general post office of Chittagong.
Speaking on the occasion, ABM Humayun said, with the launching of one point passport service, prompt delivery of passport would be ensured and all the hassles and irregularities in procuring passports would be removed. Now the forms and passports may be obtained easily from the concerned post office after paying the prescribed service charge of Tk 200. After depositing the relevant papers and the police verification, passports may be issued within 11 days of submission of the application.
ABM Humayun further said that One Point Passport Service programme would be expanded to different Sadar Upazila post offices under the district in phases.
