One to die, 4 get life term for murder

NETRAKONA, Apr 8 (UNB): A court here on Tuesday sentenced a man to death and four others to life term imprisonment for killing a college student in 2009.
The condemned convict was identified as Polash Khan, son of late Mafiz Khan of Khila village in Atpara upazila.
The lifers are Nazrul, son of Abdur Rashid, Kamrul, son of Mafiz Khan, Sajib, and Shah Alam, sons of Abdur Rauf of the village.
According to the prosecution, convict Polash aided by the others stabbed Khadiza Akhter to death on September 1, 2009 for turning down his proposal for engaging in a love affair with him.
Later, Mohammad Fazlul Karim, father of the victim, filed a case with Atpara Police Station.
