One to die, another gets life-term

NARAYANGANJ, Apr 21 (BSS): A court here today sentenced one person to death and another life-imprisonment for killing a housewife in Mizmizi- Batenpara area under Siddhirganj thana of the district in 2006.
The convicts were also fined Taka 10,000 each while the person sentenced to life term, Monir, will face another two years of rigorous imprisonment.
The convict who got the death penalty was Firoj.
According to the prosecution story, in brief, the convicts chopped housewife Saleha Begum to death with sharp weapons and critically injured her two children at her Siddhirganj house on September 23, 2006.
Following the incident, Saleha's husband Badsha Mia filed a case with the police station in this connection.
