One to hang for killing Dr. Eva

A Dhaka court on Wednesday sentenced a man to death for killing Dr. Sazia Afrin Eva in Dakshin Khan area of the city in 2012. According to the prosecution, the convict, Md Foysal, who was a caretaker of Amtala Brac clinic, strangled Eva, a part-time physician of the clinic, to death after being failed to rape her in a room of the clinic on November 29, 2012. Eva’s father Monirul Islam filed a case in this connection the following day. Foysal later confessed to police over his involvement in the killing. Judge of Dhaka speedy tribunal-4 ABM Nizamul Haque handed down the verdict after examining the records and 15 witnesses. Eva’s father expressed satisfaction over the verdict, according to UNB.
