One transport worker gunned down in city

A transport-company employee was shot dead and two others were injured in a daring gun attack reportedly by extortionists at their office at Wari in the city on Tuesday night. Police said 2/3 men raided the head office of Elish Paribahan that operates passenger buses on the Dhaka-Mawa route, located on the 2nd floor of a building at 23 Folder Street, at about 7:45pm. "Entering the office, the gunmen straight started firing on its staff members indiscriminately," said a spot account of the gun attack. Three of the staffers - Shah Mohammad Murad (20), Tipu (35) and Mohammad Mahbub (30) - were seriously injured by bullets. They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Murad dead. — UNB
