Visiting Assistant Secretary General and Director at the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy of UNDP Michael O'Neill on Sunday commended Bangladesh people's resilience in adapting to climate change and fighting urban poverty, reports UNB.
The commendation came during O'Neill's visit to the UNDP supported projects in Barguna and Dhaka.
On the first day of his three-day day visit to Bangladesh, O'Neill flew to the southwestern district of Barguna on Sunday morning. In Barguna, O'neill visited 'Fish-Forest-Fruit' project - a hugely successful pilot of UNDP's coastal afforestation programme which has now been chosen by the Bangladesh government for scaling up in nine more districts.
