RAJSHAHI, Apr 3: Online share trading in Rajshahi is facing problems due to various reasons.
After the on line share trading commenced in Rajshahi three years ago, the total number of share investors in four broker houses have now reached nearly 15,000. Daily transaction is also increasing day to day and now stands at Tk 50 million to Tk 70 million daily.
Among four subsidiary organisations of Investment Corporation Bangladesh (ICB) including ISTCL, Shyamal Equities Trading Company Limited, Globe Securities Company and Salta Securities Company Limited, the number of investors at ISTCL is nearly 8,000. Investors of ICB and its associate organisation ICML also trade in shares with ISTCL.
There being no online trading display board and multimedia projector, many of the investors are facing trouble to make transaction. Most of the days last month, the multimedia projector remained closed as there was no radio link with Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). The investors also faced problems to deal with Chittagong Stock Exchange. Many investors complained, the trading boards at the government broker houses are not transparent.
