Monday, 1 December 2014
Claiming that only the Awami League (AL) government has established education as a right, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury said Sunday criticisms of the education system do not go with those who did not do anything for it, reports UNB.
"Mistakes might happen while working. However, if there's any mistake, there's a way to correct it. The criticisms of the education sector do not suit those who didn't do anything for it," she said pointing to BNP.
Matia Chowdhury, also an AL presidium member, was addressing a commemorating discussion on two former presidents of Ganatantri Party-Ahmadul Kabir and Nurul Islam. Ganatantry Party organised the programme at the Jatiya Press Club in the city Sunday.
The minister claimed that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had introduced a filthy politics in the country through bringing Ghulam Azam back home from Pakistan with a Pakistan passport. "This also gave rise to militancy."
She also blamed Ziaur Rahman for the current situation of the country's student politics.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon expressed the determination that the ongoing war crimes trial must continue despite mounting pressure from abroad.
NAP president Pankaj Bhattacharya and general secretary of Ganatantry Party Nurur Rahman Selim, among others, addressed the function with Ganatantry Party presidium member Engr Kamrul Ahsan Khan in the chair.
