Only fresh polls can resolve crisis: BNP
Saturday, 31 May 2014
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday said there is no alternative to holding a fresh national election under a non-party administration to resolve the ongoing political crisis. “The country’s people are passing through a hard time. We ask the government to hold an election under a non-party caretaker government. This is the only way to overcome the crisis,” he said. The BNP spokesman was talking to reporters after distributing food among the destitute in the city’s Kuril area. BNP took a three-day food distribution programme among the destitute, marking the 33rd death anniversary of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, according to a news agency.
