Realtors can sell flats, only approved by the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk), in the upcoming REHAB Fair 2011, officials said.
If any company sells unapproved flats, it will not be able to take part in the next two fairs of REHAB (Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh). All the participants of the fair had to submit a written document in this regard to the organisation.
REHAB general secretary Murad Iqbal Chowdhury told the FE: "We have taken steps to stop hassles of clients as well as to create a healthy business environment in real estate sector. I have also submitted written statement to the REHAB on behalf on my company."
"This time a team of Rajuk will also attend the REHAB Fair to inform the customers whether their desired projects are approved or not and answer their various queries."
"I urge all the buyers to verify the projects from the Rajuk team before booking," he said.
Mr Murad also added, "The sector is passing through hard times for the last few years. So we're now trying to attract customers with different offers, like - discount, raffle draws and gift on booking, to increase our sales. All the real estate companies will offer discount in the fair."
The REHAB Fair 2011 will kick off on December 15 and continue until December 19 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city.
State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest. Minister for Environment and Forest Hasan Mahmud will attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
REHAB sources said there will be 283 stalls in the five-daylong REHAB fair, which will remain open from 10:00am to 9:00pm everyday. Two financial institutions - LankaBangla Finance and Delta Brac Housing - will also take part in the programme. The single entry fee of the fair will be Tk 50 and multiple entry fee Tk 100.
