Operation of two power units restored

Resumption of the two power generating units, that went out of order last week, have increased production significantly. The two plants - a 200 megawatt (MW) unit of the Ghorashal plant and the 450 MW Meghnaghat plant - that were shut down on May 8, came into operation Thursday and Friday respectively, a Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) spokesperson said Saturday. The country's maximum generation stood at 4,230 MW Saturday. It was around 3,700 MW over the last week.
