OptimaPlast Industries Private Limited, a local manufacturer of plastic products, is set to invest $3.96 million in the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) in Chattogram to establish a new industrial unit.
The company will set up its plant on 3.0 acres of land to produce a range of plastic goods including bottles, lubricant and paint containers, buckets, lids, caps and PET jars.
Additionally, the company plans to diversify into medical supplies, especially blood transfusion bags and garments accessories.
A land lease agreement to this effect was signed between BEZA and OptimaPlast at a ceremony held at BEZA's headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Tuesday. BEZA Executive Member (Investment Promotion) Saleh Ahmed and OptimaPlast Managing Director GM Ekramul Haque signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides, says a press statement.
Congratulating the new investor, Saleh Ahmed said the NSEZ is creating a unique opportunity for investors, and this investment will add diversity to the production of B2B products.
OptimaPlast MD Ekramul Haque expressed confidence in swiftly establishing the factory.
He said that necessary plans are underway to set up a comprehensive industrial factory aimed at meeting the demands of other companies in the NSEZ, where 14 plants have already started operating and 20 other factories are under construction.
Established in 1994 in Chattogram as Reliance Can Industry (Private) Limited, OptimaPlast manufactures high-quality rigid plastic and packaging products catering to various industrial and commercial sectors.
The company's current annual turnover stands at approximately Tk 960 million, according to the statement.
