Tuesday, 10 June 2014
A court in Chittagong will pass its order on June 25 whether nayeb-e-ameer of Hefajat-e-Islam Mufti Izharul Islam and his son Harun Izharul will be indicted in a case filed under the Acid Control Act in connection with a bomb blast at a madrasah in October last year.
Metropolitan Session’s Judge SM Mujibur Rahman fixed the date on Tuesday after concluding charge-framing hearing.
Three people, including two students, were killed and several others injured in an explosion in a room of a four-storey hostel of Jamiatul Ulum Islami Madrasah at Lalkhan Bazar on October 7, 2013.
Police later recovered huge explosive-making materials, 18 bottles of acid and four unexploded grenades from the surrounding areas of the madrasah. The explosion was believed to have taken place while making bombs, according to UNB.
