Oriental Bank officials directed to intensify recovery activities

Managers and divisional heads of the head office of the Oriental Bank Limited have been directed to intensify their recovery activities.
Former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Chairman of the board of directors of the bank AH Towfique Ahmed gave the directive while speaking as the chief guest at the second Quarterly Business Review Conference of the bank in the city Sunday, said a press release.
Managing Director of the bank Md Asaduzzaman Khan presided over the conference.
Managers of the branches and the divisional heads of the head office took part in the conference and presented reports on activities of their respective branches and divisions.
Recovery against the classified loans for the quarter April-June-2007 and profit/loss position of the branches were discussed at the meeting.
The managing director thanked the managers and divisional heads for recovery against irregular accounts for Tk 1.90 billion and total Tk 5.68 billion against outstanding loans after taking over of the bank by the Bangladesh Bank.
He also urged all concerned to make utmost efforts to intensify the recovery of stuck-up loans, the release added.
