Outage hits PM’s event, 10 suspended

Dhaka Power Distribution Company has suspended 10 of its staff as outage hit a function attended by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday.Four among them were executive engineers, Nazrul Hasan, Managing Director of the company, told bdnews24.com. A committee has also been formed to look into the outage, he said. The PM inaugurated the Light and Sound Show at Lalbagh Fort around 6pm. Before leaving the function at around 7:15pm, blackouts occurred three times in her presence. Power supply was, however, uninterrupted in the areas around the fort.
