Outlaw killed in shootout with police

PABNA, Sept 19(UNB): An outlawed party cadre was killed in a shootout between his cohorts and police at Nandanpur village under Sadar Upazila Friday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Shukur Ali (35), a cadre of outlawed outfit Janajuddha.
Acting on secret information, police conducted a drive at the village at about midnight while Shukur along with his accomplices was holding a clandestine meeting.
Sensing their presence the terrorists opened fire on them forcing the law enforcers to fire back.
At one stage Shukur was killed in the shootout while his accomplices managed to flee.
Police also recovered one shutter-gun and two rounds of bullet from the spot. The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said Shukur was wanted in five murder and other criminal cases.
