Outlaws killed in triangular gunfight

KUSHTIA, Dec 4 (UNB): Two top cadres of an outlawed party were killed in a triangular gunfight between two extremist groups and law enforcers on the outskirts of the town early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Rokan (28) of West Mohammadpur in the town and also military commander of Purba Banglar Communist Party (Mannan Molla Group) and his accomplice Sagar (38) of Chorhash Fultola in Sadar Upazila.
Rokon was wanted in 11 cases, including four murder cases while Sagar in four murder and six other criminal cases, the police said.
Acting on secret information that two outlawed groups are engaged in a gunfight near Jagoti Rail Station, a joint team of detective branch (DB) and Sadar police station set out for the spot.
When the team reached near the spot the terrorists opened fire on the law enforcers forcing them to fire back that triggered a triangular gunfight.
At one stage, the outlaws managed to flee the scene. Later, the bodies of Rokon and Sagar were found lying on the ground.
The police recovered one pistol, one light gun (LG) and 11 rounds of bullet from the spot.
