Outsiders to leave polling areas by Saturday midnight

Saturday, 25 April 2015

Outsiders will have to leave Dhaka by Saturday midnight, ahead of the Dhaka North and Dhaka South city corporations' elections slated for April 28, reports UNB.
According to the 7th notification issued by the Election Commission, those who are neither voters nor dwellers of the city corporation areas will not be allowed to stay in the election areas after 12:00 am on April 25.
The notification said the commission ordered the outsiders to leave the election areas before 12:00 am on April 25 for holding the polls in neutral and peaceful manner keeping the elections free from influence.
Election Commissioner Shah Nawaz told the news agency that the EC issued the order for the sake of arrangement of fair elections keeping away any sort of outsider influence.
He defined the outsiders as those persons who have 'no logical ground' to stay in the city corporation areas.
In the last few years, similar measures were taken ahead of other city corporation elections.
