Over 0.1m BD pilgrims reachSaudi Arabia to perform Hajj

FE ReportThis year 101,210 pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia to perform holy Hajj through government and non-government agencies, President of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) Jamal Uddin Ahmed said at a press conference Monday.
He said this year the Saudi government has given permission to Bangladesh government to send 120,000 pilgrims. But 106,965 pilgrims deposited money to perform holy Hajj. Among them 3,799 pilgrims are under government management and the rest 103,573 under private management.
The Hajj flights began on September 29 and concluded on November 02 and the return Hajj flights will start on November 10 and continue until December 10, said Mr Ahmed.
Biman Bangladesh AirĀlines and Saudi Airlines carried most of the pilgrims apart from other airliners, he said.
This year the government has decided to appoint one guide for every 45 pilgrims.
