Over 0.2m govt posts vacant

More than 0.2 million posts in government jobs are laying vacant, reports bdnews24.com.
"At present 228, 912 government posts are vacant. Filling up vacancies is an ongoing process," State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique told Parliament Monday.
"The related ministries and departments are working to employ people in these posts," she said in reply to a query from Nasima Ferdushi, an MP from reserved women seat.
In reply to another question from MA Maleque, MP from Dhaka-20, the state minister said a total of 5,600 staff are working under the ministry. Of them, 5,300 officials are from BCS administration cadre while 210 are second class officials.
The government has no plan to raise age limit for entering into government jobs to 35 years from the existing 30, Sadique said in reply to the query from MA Hannan, MP from Mymensingh-7.
