Over 1.0 kg gold seized at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Jun 26 (UNB): Customs officials seized 10 gold bars weighing 1.120 kg from a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport Wednesday night.
Assistant commissioner (Customs) Mashiur Rahman Mondal said the gold bars worth Tk 5.0 million were seized from the luggage of M Sohel, a passenger of 'Air Arabia' flight that landed at the airport from Sharjah.
The gold bars were hidden in a packet of charger fan inside Sohel's luggage. It was detected after scanning his bag when he was leaving the airport, said the customs official.
A case has been filed in this connection.
