Over 10m tonnes vegetables expected in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Nov 6 (BSS): The cultivation of winter vegetables is going on in full swing in seven upazilas of the district aimed at producing over 0.1 million tonnes during the current winter season.
DAE sources said under the programme, a total of 7,812 hectares of land would be brought under the cultivation with the production target of 1, 40,616 tonnes of winter vegetables.
The DAE sources said Singair upazila of the district is famous for winter season vegetables. The soil of the district is suitable for producing huge quantity of vegetables including cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, bean, radish, guard, cucumber and sweet potato.
