Over 20m children to be fed Vitamin A capsule tomorrow

Over 20 million (2 crore) children of 6-11 month and 12-59 month age groups would be fed Vitamin A capsule tomorrow (Saturday) across the country to protect them from night-blindness and strengthen their immune system, reports UNB.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Affairs Zahid Malek made the announcement at a press briefing at the ministry on Thursday. He said the children of the 6-11 month age group would be given a blue-coloured Vitamin A capsule each while children of 12-59 month age will be given a red-coloured Vitamin A capsule each.
The junior minister said around 0.4 million volunteers in cooperation with government and non-government organisations would take part in the campaign to successfully feed children vitamin capsule from permanent 0.12 million centres from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on the day.
Besides, some 20, 000 mobile centres would be opened at bus stands, launch terminals and railway stations and airports, he said.
