Saturday, 27 December 2008

GAZIPUR, Dec 26 (UNB): At least 25 people were injured in a collision between two trains at the signal point of Rajendrapur rail station here Friday.
Railway sources said the Mymensingh bound Brahmaputra Express from Dhaka and the Dhaka bound Mohua Express from Mymensingh collided at 6:50 am.
"No big disaster happened as the two trains were moving slowly", said a witness of the accident.
Army of Rajendrapur cantonment and railway authority rescued the injured people.
As two compartments of a train veered off the rail track train communication on Dhaka-Mymensingh route remained suspended.
Rajendrapur railway sources said the accident occurred as the train drivers (loco master) failed to see the signal due to dense fog.
