Over Tk 1.52b RCC budget announced

RAJSHAHI, June 21: The acting Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Rezaunnabi Dudu announced a proposed budget of Taka 1521.865 million (Taka 152 crore 18 lakh 65 thousand and fifty three) of RCC for the 2007-2008 fiscal year at a press conference held at the conference room of RCC this morning.
In the income sector of the budget, Taka 264,955,917 has been estimated from revenue income which include tax, rates, fees, rents and profits, donation and government grants, Taka 43,216,643 has been estimated from capital sector which includes motor cycle loan, house building loan, deposit and advance while Taka 45,343,632 has been estimated to receive from development assistance grant, sanitation related jobs, advance and other miscellaneous sector and Taka 6,828,861 has been estimated to receive from project grant of ADP, digital city project, development of small and medium industries, Bangladesh Municipal development fund, flood control fund, Green South Asia project and miscellaneous fund. The amount has been estimated for the expenditure sector of the budget which includes salary and wages of the staff and employees, preservation and development of roads, civil defence, education and culture and miscellaneous.
This was the first ever presentation of the budget of RCC by the Acting Mayor Rezaunnabi Dudu. After presenting the budget, the mayor sought cooperation from all to finish the development programmes of RCC successfully and invited opinions from journalists and elites for any moderation of the budget.
