Over Tk 155m revenue realised

BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 07: Tax commission (Ashuganj and Brahmanbaria circle) of the district realised a record revenue of more than Tk 155 million (155,569,196) in the fiscal 2006-2007.
Brahmanbaria and Ashuganj circle of the commission comprises Kasba, Akhaura, Sarail, Sadar, Nasirnagar, Ashuganj, Nabinagar and Banchharampur upazilas for convenience of tax collection from those areas.
The department realised the amount of revenue from businessmen, development institutions, and employee's salary of state-owned and private banks, corporations and organisations.
Over Tk 113 million was realised in the fiscal 2005-2006, which is more than over Tk 4.2 million higher than that of the fiscal 2005-2006, sources said.
Besides, the department has realised Tk 13.60 million revenue in the district; people have whitened their money during the period availing the opportunity of the tax amnesty the revenue authority offered since June 4.
