Owners fail to reclaim land from grabbers

Our Correspondent NARSINGDI, Nov 28: Genuine land owners are moving door to door of local administration and local elites to seek justice and recover their land from illegal land grabbers of Daspara village under Narsingdi sadar upazila of the district for the last 17 years . Land owners Afjal Hossain of Bouakur area in Narsingdi town held a press conference at Narsingdi Press Club on November 28 at about 4.00 pm. Afjal Hossain read out a written statement in the press conference .He said some Ataur, Raju and Mohammad Ali, both sons of Late Abul Hasim of Daspara village with the help of vested quarters captured 50 decimal land of Daspara area in sadar upazila for the last 17 years. The land purchasers are identified as Mosharraf Hossain, son of Abdur Razzak of Brahmandi area, Abdul Momen, son of Abdur Rauf of Brahmandi area, Mahmudul Haque, son of Abdur Rashid of Bouakur area and Afjal Hossain Molla, son of Azgar Ali Molla of Bouakur area in Narsingdi town. They bought 50 decimal land from one Anu Bibi and Achhi Uddin Bhuiyan of Daspara village in sadar upazila about 17 years ago. The land grabbers Ataur , Raju and Mohammad Ali of Daspara village with help of some vested quarters allegedly made false deeds and captured 50 decimals lands illegally. The land grabbers filed several false cases against original purchasers with Supreme Court , Judge Court, Assistant Judge Court and District Magistrate's (DM) court but they failed to prove 5 cases out of 8 and the verdict was given in favour of land owners . But the actual land owners are yet to get possession of their land. On receipt of court order the land owners went to their lands but were resisted by the land grabbers with lethal weapons. Afjal Molla said they were being harassed physically, mentally and economically by the grabbers. They urged the Prime Minister, Law and Parliamentary Affair Minister Barrister Shafik Ahmed and Land Minister to take necessary action in this regard.
