Oxfam BD gets Asian award

Oxfam, the leading worldwide development organisation, has been selected as the winner of best film produced in Bangladesh on Disaster Risk Reduction at the 6th Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) held in Bangkok recently. Recognising the value of short film as instruments for social change, Thailand as the host of the 6^th AMCDRR in 2014 together with Thai Public Broadcasting Service, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction launched the video competition under the theme, ‘Promoting Investment for Resilient Nations and Communities’. The competition was open for the Asia Pacific Region, according to a news agency.
