Pabna farmers demand price commission for agri products

PABNA, Mar 25: Demanding for a National Agriculture Price Commission a view sharing meeting was organised on Tuesday at the conference room of Satsanga Pallikallyan Samity (SPS). The meeting was organised by People Agriculture Price Commission-Pabna with the support of Oxfam, GROW, CSRL and Karmojibi Nari and local organisation Satsanga Pallikallyan Samity (SPS).
M Saidul Haque Chunnu, president of Price Commission -- Pabna and Administrator of Pabna Zila Parishad was chaired the meeting while Mahabulbul Alam Mukul -- senior vice-president Pabna Chamber and Commerce Industries, Amirul Islam Ranga -- president of JSD, Pabna, Mosaddek Hossain Mannaf president of Nationalist Krisak Dal of BNP, Rezaul Karim Moni -- president of NAP -- Pabna district committee, journalist Akhtaruzzaman Akhter, A B M Fazlur Rhman, businessman Probir Shaha, Councillor Tama Islam Puspo and farmer Abdur Rahim and Abdul Latif spoke at the meeting.
All the political party leaders expressed their opinion about the just price of the products of farmer.
The farmers urged the political leaders to raise the voice to establish a national agriculture price commission to ensure just prices for the farmers' products.
Krisibid Zafar Sadek presented a paper on the issues and Executive Director of SPS moderated the meeting.
Nor'wester lashes
4 upazilas: 20 hurt
A UNB report says: At least 20 people were injured as nor'wester lashed four upazilas of the district on Monday evening.
Witnesses said the violent storm swept through Sadar, Sujanagar, Santhia and Bera upazilas of the district around 6 am.
Three cement godowns and a fertilizer godwon collapsed in Bera upazila during the storm that left 20 workers injured.
