Pabna-Sujanagar road in bad shape

PABNA, July 26: A three kilometre portion of 20-km-long Pabna-Sujanagar road is now in a bad shape and can no longer sustain pressure of heavy industrial goods-laden trucks.
Most part of the road has become dilapidated. The road has its importance as a large number of industries are located at Hazirhat-Mosurabad area on its sides from Pabna to Sujanagar. The condition of the road became more precarious due to further damage caused by recent incessant rains.
Small and large potholes were created which are hampering safe movement of traffic, and road accidents are occurring very often. The drivers of the vehicles have complained of manifold problems while driving their vehicles.
Recently, the deplorable situation has mounted due to heavy downpour over the last several days. Trucks, buses, minibuses, tempos, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, rickshaw van, and rickshaws run on the road at high risk.
About 15,000 workers, staff and employees of different industries, mills and factories take this road to go to their work places in difficulties.
According to the sources extremely damaged areas are Bannaipara, Krshnatala, Tarabaria, Kachipara, Monsurabad, Bunnai and Sadullahpara areas on the Pabna-Sujanagar road.
