Pabna UP takes move to promote social duties among people

PABNA, Aug 18: A cultural programme and a street theatre festival was  organised in the union parishad premises on Saturday morning funded by USAID, a foreign donor agency, aiming to generate awareness among the people about the important social issues as preventing child trafficking, ensuring holding taxes, usefulness of ward meetings, preventing child marriage, awarding open budget and so on.
Chairman of Lokhhikunda union Parishad Anisul Haque Mollah inaugurated the special event for awarding people of the union on Saturday morning. A discussion featured on the occasion was addressed among others by Debashis Majumder and Abu Zafar Siddik Milon both officials of RDRS, a local NGO.
Through the play it was shown how the people avoid holding tax and what happens in society for not paying holding tax. The play also pointed out the burning social problems as early marriage, child trafficking and drug peddling.
