Wednesday, 22 July 2015

The officials of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID) unearthed a tax evasions incident of Tk 75 million (Tk 7.50 crore) on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Sources at the CIID said a private owned packaging company 'M/S Vicky Packaging' of Jatrabari in the city, imported different types of goods, including duplex board, art card, liner paper and printing ink worth around Tk 200 million misusing bond facilities in between 2011 and June 2015.
Getting allegations that the packaging company has been imported the goods since 2011 using the bond facilities without taxes for export, the CIID conducted investigation into the matter and found that the company sold the goods in local markets evading taxes of Tk 75 million, said Assistant Director of CIID Umme Nahida. Legal action will be taken against the packaging company, she said.
