Padma Bridge: Deal signed with China firm for river training

The government signed Monday  a Tk 87.08 billion agreement with a Chinese company for the river training works of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project.
Padma Bridge project director Shafiqul Islam and deputy chief engineer of Sinohydro Iyu Liushan inked the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the evening.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader was present at the deal signing ceremony.
The duration of the agreement signed between Bangladesh Bridge Authority and Sinohydro is 48 months, according to a news agency.
