Painting camp by BD artists begins in Delhi

NEW DELHI, May 10 (BSS): A painting camp by a group of senior artists from Bangladesh began here Tuesday at the Lalit Kala Academy Galleries at Rabindra Bhavan to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore.
The painting camp is being jointly organised by the Lalit Kala Academy and the Ministry of Culture as part of Indo-Bangladesh joint celebration of the birth anniversary of the Nobel Laureate.
Prof A Ramachandran, eminent artist and fellow of the Academy formally inaugurated the camp in presence of Bangladeshi artists.
Dr Sudhakar Sharma, secretary of Lalit Kala Academy, presided over the function and senior-most artist from Bangladesh Hamiduzzaman Khan spoke on the occasion. Enamul Haque Chowdhury, minister (press), Bangladesh High Commission, was also present on the occasion.
The camp will continue until May 16 during which eight Bangladeshi artists will draw paintings and those will be exhibited at the Rabindra Bhavan from May 18, organisers said.
The artists are Hamiduzzaman Khan, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Abdul Mannan, Nasreen Begum, Mohammad Iqbal, Sheikh Afzal Hussain, Mohammad Eunus and Golam Faruque Bebul.
