Pak, Iran FMs discuss gas pipeline

ISLAMABAD, Aug 25 (PTI): The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Iran yesterday discussed a gas pipeline involving the two countries and India and hoped that the project would be completed soon.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid M Kasuri and exchanged views on the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, the Foreign Office here said in a statement.
The two ministers expressed the hope that the project, which was of strategic importance, would be completed soon, the statement said. Besides, they discussed issues of mutual interest.
Kasuri assured the Iranian Foreign Minister that anyone having "evil designs" against Iran would not find sanctuary in Pakistan, it said.
