Monday, 25 October 2021

Pakistan won by 10 wickets with 13 balls remaining in their high-voltage Twenty20 World Cup clash against India on Sunday in Dubai, report agencies.
Pakistan made history in Dubai, beating India in a World Cup for the first time to move top of Group 2.
Skipper Babar Azam and other opener Rizwan saw their side romp home without losing any wicket, chasing a target of 152.
Babar Azam was not out on 68 off 52 balls and Rizwan was unbeaten on 79 off 55 balls in the Super 12s encounter.
Shaheen Afridi was adjudged the Player of the Match as he took three wickets, including skipper Virat Kohli for 57, to jolt the Indian innings.
In his reaction, Virat Kohli said, "We did not execute the things that we wanted to but credit is certainly due - they outplayed us today. When you lose three early, it's very difficult to come back, especially when you know the dew is coming."
Babar Azam said, "We executed our plans well and the early wickets were very helpful. Shaheen's wickets gave us a lot of confidence and the spinners dominated as well. The plan with Rizwan is always to keep it simple. We tried to get deep in the crease and from about the 8th over the dew came in and the ball came on nicely.
Earlier, India managed 151 for seven despite suffering an early jolt.
Pakistan's left-arm fast bowler Afridi returned figures of 3-31 after a lethal first spell to hurt India after they elected to field first.
Kohli scored his 29th T20 fifty to help the team rebuild before being caught behind off Afridi as Pakistan dismissed the star batsman for the first time in a World Cup game.
Afridi struck the first blow with an express delivery that swung in to trap Rohit Sharma lbw for a first ball duck and the bowler celebrated with his trademark open-arm gesture.
Kohli walked in amid raucous applause from the Indian fans inside the 20,000-strong crowd.
