Pakistan Dates Show-2007 begins tomorrow in city

The fourth Pakistan Dates Show-2007 will begin tomorrow (Sunday) at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel, reports UNB.
The Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is organising the two-day show.
Commerce Secretary Feroz Ahmed will inaugurate the exhibition as the chief guest. A number of date growers and exporters from Pakistan will be exhibiting their products.
The target audience of the show will be the fruit importers, dealers, wholesalers, distributors, super stores, retailers and consumers of the product.
Pakistan produces more than 600,000 tonnes of dates and it is among the top 4-5 producers of date in the world. Pakistan can supply both dry and fresh dates.
Pakistan has increased its share of date imports in Bangladesh from 2.37 per cent in 2003-04 to 5.39 per cent in 2004-05. Bangladesh is one of the largest importers and consumers of dates in the world.
