Monday, 16 February 2015
Pakistan is 'directly involved' in the BNP-led coalition's ongoing agitation that has left over 80 people dead across Bangladesh, claims senior Awami League (AL) leader Tofail Ahmed, report agencies.
He alleged the movement, led by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, was an "international conspiracy".
"It is no movement; it is terrorism and militancy. I think there is international conspiracy behind the ongoing movement of Khaleda Zia," he told press conference after a meeting of the AL-led 14-party alliance at the AL President's Dhanmondi office in the city.
Tofail, also member of AL advisory council, alleged that Khaleda Zia had declared the movement against the country's progress and development.
About dialogue, he said: "Our position is clear in this connection. There will be no dialogue with the persons involved in acts of terrorism."
Speaking at the press conference, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu said there will be no dialogue with "demons and arsonists."
The AL-led 14-party meeting decided to hold a rally at Uttara today (Monday) at 3 pm protesting the subversive acts of BNP-Jamaat alliance. The alliance will also hold a mass procession in the capital on February 20.
