Pakistan lost two quick wickets to move to 82 for 3 after 11 overs against Bangladesh in their Super 10 tie of the World Twenty20 on Sunday. Umar Akmal went for a duck to a thick edge off Mahmudullah to the third man where Tamim Iqbal took a diving catch. Skipper Mohammed Hafeez (8) went down the track, was beaten by Abdur Razzak’s flight and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim calmly took the bails off. Opener Ahmed Shehzad (54) and Shoaib Malik (5) were out in the middle after Pakistan decided to bat first at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur in the city. Shehzad scored his fifty off 30 balls. Opener Kamran Akmal (9) swept Abdur Razzak off the pads and Ziaur Rahman took a great catch at short fine leg. Shehzad pummelled boundaries to get his side off to a flying start, particularly harsh on Bangladesh paceman Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who went for 18 runs in his second over. Bangladesh needs a few breakthroughs to restrict Pakistan to a modest total to make a fight of the match. The hosts are under fire for their back-to-back defeats against West Indies and India. So they are desperate for a victory. Pakistan is also fighting to survive in the tournament. Australia would be closely watching this match as they get ready to take on India later in the day, according to bdnews24.com.
