Pakistani held with Rs 11.7m at Shahjalal

Customs Intelligence officials arrested a Pakistani citizen and recovered 11.7 million (1.17 crore) Indian rupees from him at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday. The arrestee was identified as Muhammad Selim, a Pakistan national. Joint Commissioner of Customs at the Hazrat Shahjalal (R) Airport, Quazi Mohammad Ziauddin, said Muhammad Selim arrived in the city from Karachi by a flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) around 12:45pm. The Indian currency was found after scanning his luggage at the airport. He brought the rupees concealing in a small tea-table. He was handed over to Airport Police Station, according to private TV channels.
