Palli Bidyut men injured in mob attack

Outraged by persistent power outages, local people attacked two officials of Sarsha palli bidyut office, leaving them injured Tuesday morning. The injured were-Mafijur Rahman, Deputy General Manager and Shariful Islam, Assistant General Manager of the power office. Local people said they have been suffering due acute load shedding for the last one month. They get power only for six hours in a day that also hampers import-export and other activities in Benapole port. Some 1520 local people went to Sarsha palli bidyut office in the morning and demanded uninterrupted power supply. At one stage, they got furious and beat up DGM Mafijur Rahman, and AGM Shariful Islam, leaving them injured. - UNB
