Sources said necessity for the experts' panel has been felt as the project has reached almost the stage of finalising detailed design and institution development to establish the first-ever mass transit system in the capital.
"Necessity for the experts has strongly been felt by us and we have already made some progress in this regard," said project director Mofazzel Hossain.
He said there are efforts to select experts from home and abroad to help the government take right decision in the country's context.
Sources said as formation of the panel is also recommended in the development project proposal of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development (DMRTD) Project, it is now under consideration.
A process has already been started to select the chairman of the panel of experts from the country.
