Panthapath\\\'s Mohona Hospital shut

Monday, 1 December 2014

The hospital at Panthapath in the city that allegedly neglected treatment of grievously injured journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury before he died, lacks necessary approval. A Health Ministry official, who visited the Mohona Hospital on Monday before shutting it down, said it only had the approval to function as a diagnostic centre. Senior journalist was rescued and whisked to Mohona Hospital after he received critical injuries in a bus accident in Sonargaon Hotel Intersection in Karwan Bazar on Saturday night. The hospital authorities allegedly showed sheer negligence about the seriously injured patient and wasted more than 1-and-half-hour before referring the senior journalist to another hospital in nearby Green Road for better treatment. Zaglul, 65, the Consulting Editor of the Financial Express, succumbed to his wounds a little while after he was rushed to Comfort Hospital in Green Road, according to a news agency.
