Papan steps down as BCB president

Thursday, 22 August 2024

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papan, who fled the country after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government, has confirmed his resignation, reports UNB.
With the resignation, the decade-old tenure of Papan at the BCB came to an end.
Nazmul's third term was set to end in October 2024, with elections scheduled thereafter, according to the BCB constitution. However, recent political changes in the country accelerated his departure and may lead to further shifts in the coming days.
