Paperless office is the demand of the time
Saturday, 5 March 2011
All work with computers using the Internet in an office in Malaysia. This is a common scenario in many offices of the developed countries. They are not using papers in office work. It is hoped within a very short time all offices will work in the same manner. Computers and Internet will replace papers. It is easy to work with computers, easy to write, easy to make corrections, it saves time, and the work is done in a smooth manner. And above all, Internet technology reaches a letter in the fastest way, almost in no time to the recipients, no matter how far they may be.
Some high officials, bureaucrats, academicians are taking classes for new
officers when they are in a training in PATC, Savar and other places across
the country. Projection of training films and videos on various topics can supplement this job. Video conferences can also be arranged in such cases. These maneuvers will not only ease the job; it will help save time of these important people as well as easing the traffic congestions in the busy streets.
We can also prepare some excellent videos for the students of Math, Science or English or on any other subjects. The students can learn from it sitting at home. This will ultimately reduce financial pressure on the guardians who spend huge amount of money for sending their children to coaching centres. Thus, the children will have lesser sufferings, and the city streets will have lesser traffic.
Making the offices paperless will help the decentralization process which is a demanding issue of the time. Internet in this case plays an important role.
We earnestly request authorities concerned to make at least
some offices in Dhaka paper free. At the same time, Internet services have to be made more widely available and reliable.
