Paralysed man burnt to death in Manikganj

A man paralysed by accident was burned to death in a devastating fire at Daulatpur upazila in Manikganj district on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Joynal Sheikh, 40, son of Badaruddin, a resident of Kholshi Haldarpara village in the upazila. Witnesses and family sources said the fire originated from an unknown source at the house of Joinal Sheikh at the village around 10:30pm, leaving Joinal, bed-ridden for paralysis due to an accident, dead on the spot. His other family members were outside the house during the fire. Locals said mystery shrouded the fire as it could not be ascertained whether it was an accident or act of sabotage by unknown criminals. Shawkat Alam, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station, confirmed the fire incident, according to a news agency.
