Parents killed by daughter's suitor in city

An elderly couple were shot dead Wednesday by the young suitor of their daughter at Kalachandpur in Gulshan of the capital, police said.
The police named the victims as Sadequr Rahman (55), general secretary of Bangladesh Nursery Owners' Association, and his wife Romana Nargis (45).
The victims' family members said Rubel, a resident of Norda who had an affair with the victims' daughter Eti, came to the residence of Sadeq along with his friend Mithun at about 9:30am and opened fire on Eti's parents, leaving them fatally wounded.
They were rushed to United Hospital in Gulshan where the doctors declared them dead.
