Parliament turns into musical soiree, says Khaleda

Khaleda Zia has criticised the proceedings of Parliament, saying no discussion is taking place there. “No discussion is taking place in Parliament Tuesday. It has become a musical gathering,” the former leader of the house, who is now out of it, said at a programme in Dhaka Tuesday.  The BNP chief attended an Iftar organised by the Labour Party, a constituent of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, at Estakaton Garden’s Ladies Club. The leader of the Opposition in the ninth Parliament said the tenth Parliament had become ineffective without her party. “There is no Opposition in the Parliament now. It is bereft of any agenda to debate on.” She demanded a fresh election with participation of all political parties. “We want a fair election.” She criticised the Election Commission and said it lacked the ability to hold a proper balloting. “This is a useless and ineffective Election Commission, according to a news agency.
