The Election Commission (EC) has wrapped up registration of political parties, with 37 parties getting certificates and election logos, according to an official. "The registration process of the political parties with the Election Commission ahead of the ninth parliamentary election has ended," the EC's application form scrutiny committee (technical) chief Nurul Islam said Thursday. The committee's member secretary Farhad Ahammed Khan said they had certified each of the 37 parties after reviewing their eligibility in line with the rules. A total of 107 political parties had applied for registration with the EC from August 26 to October 20. Awami League and BNP got registered with the EC on November 3. -- bdnews24.com
